This is the third installment of the Project Runway Fall 2012 collection series I'm doing on the blog! I have the two lip products coming up soon so keep on the lookout for that!
I've combined the two blushes into one swatch/review post because it's easier to compare color and finish side by side. The funny thing is that I used to never be into blush but as soon I decided to splurge a bit and get the much-raved-about NARS Orgasm blush, I've constantly tried to collect more and more because they add so much more dimension into a look! Ah, the beginnings of my makeup exploration! Such nostalgia!
The two blushes I am swatching for you today are the The Mystic's Blush and the Temptress' Blush. I picked these two mostly because I like these two and I don't have anything too similar in my collection. I believe the first blush I have ever tried was a L'Oreal Super Blendable Blush but from the OLD OLD OLD OLD OLD packaging that's actually surprisingly similar to the ones they use now for the Project Runway series. In any case, onto the review!
More after the jump!Full Line
I'm not going to repost the full line for the Temptress line but you can refer to this post for the pictures: hereColor
I initially picked these colors because I thought that I didn't have anything similar in my collection. My blush collection is rather small as I had mentioned earlier. The peachy color of the Mystic's Blush really appealed to be and I thought the mauvey pink of the Temptress' Blush would really suit my skintone.Packaging
Packaging was very simplistic and minimalist. You also get a lot of product for the blush so this could definitely last quite a while. It doesn't have a audible snap close but it's sturdy and won't come undone during travel if you want to bring it along for a quick touch up.
Swatches
Excuse the mislabeling on the swatch but the swatch is supposed to say "The Mystic's Blush" not the "Muse's Blush." I think I had a temporary brain fart and misread the packaging, lol.
Upon closer inspection, you can definitely see that the color payoff is VERY minimal for the Mystic's Blush. I was very disappointed by this and wished I picked up the other blush instead, lol. It might actually work as a highlighter but I'm definitely not a fan of pink highlighters because of the natural redness I have in my face. For those of you with pink undertones, this might work out as it has a slightest bit of shimmer and definitely won't overwhelm the rest of the face.
The Temptress' Blush was much better by comparison. You could definitely see the mauvey pink come through and it translated much better on the cheeks. It doesn't seem like it through the swatch but the color payoff was pretty decent. I enjoyed this color on my cheeks for sure. The only problem is that the lasting power is almost nil. If you really want staying power for this blush, I suggest getting some sort of budgeproof primer.
As you can see I compared it to some other blushes to give a color comparison as well as a color payoff comparison.
