I am sad that it is already August and we have only gone on one bike ride. That’s pretty pathetic! The challenge of a crazy busy summer but my goal is to get out at least once a week while it is still nice out. Before we know it there will be freezing temperatures and snow on the ground (that is a scary thought). There was a 15 year stretch that I don’t think I even touched a bicycle. That changed when I got a bike for Christmas two years ago. It had been on my list for a while and we had moved to a very bike friendly community. I wanted to participate!
Now that I have some experience biking I thought a few of my favorite products would be great to share. Since I grew up in the era where we didn’t wear helmets that was a huge adjustment for me. An adjustment I was willing to make. Cracking open my head isn’t really on my list of things to do. And while I have upgraded to a basic pair of bike shorts I don’t have shoes yet or pedals where I could clip in. Maybe someday but I am not quite there yet.
- Seamless Adjustable Cami Bra. This is one of my favorite sports bras for biking, I don’t need a ton of support but still want to be comfortable. If you haven’t checked out Graced by Grit I highly recommend their clothes. (I was sent a discount code for 40% but I have ordered additional things already).
- Yurbuds. I love love love these headphones, these are heavy duty and the major bonus is the backs are magnetic and they stick together and don’t get all tangled. I wish I would have thought of that! These are the Duro line and they are designed to be outside since they are sweat and water resistant. (There were a sample I was sent)
- The first hat made for woman with long hair. Instead of having the weird adjustable thing where you get your hair stuck this just has a piece of elastic and you thread your hair through. So much easier. This goes on right after I take my helmet off, I don’t love walking around with weird sweaty helmet hair. (Thanks to ADActivewear for sending this to me!)
- This SPI Messenger bag is perfect for biking, it’s a crossbody bag and perfect for tucking in your phone, bike lock, keys, sunscreen and lipgloss. This is the like the belt for biking. It stay’s put and was so nice to have a secure spot to put all my items. (Thanks to SPI for sending this to me, I LOVE it)
- My bike! Scott got me this Titan hybrid style bike and I love it. It’s rugged enough for trails but very smooth riding for the road.
- When Scott and I were at the Chiro last week they suggested this Rock Sauce and Tape for both of us, me for my neck and shoulders (hello desk job) and the lower back for Scott. It had just so happened that they emailed about samples just that day. A happy coincidence! They have great videos online for applying the tape and I can attest to it making me sit up at my desk and reduce that neck pain.
- Schwinn Helmet. Excuse the weird photo but it just kept doing that and I don’t have anymore patience left. I happened to find an adult one that fit at TJ Maxx. Safety first but I will take a deal when I see one.

I never thought I would like biking as much as I do. You get a good workout, end up feeling it in your legs and it’s nice to just be outside and use this to get all the stress off my mind!
