Andddd I’m back again from another trip! Didja miss me and my nonsensical verbal diarrhea?

This whirlwind trip to Hong Kong wasn’t the best – travelling with people you’re not close to can be really tough, especially when one shops at the speed of light with no tea breaks or even toilet breaks. If there ever were an Olympic category for speed shopping, she’d take the straw (and the entire straw scarecrow for that matter).
What’s more, in a country like HK where everyone’s grumpy, angsty and grouchy, it really puts a damper on my mood. I guess that could explain why my face is so black this morning (either that, or cos of all the pollution in HK – that country’s really foggy and smoggy)
But never fear, Sulwhasoo is here! I’ve been using this Whitening Serum for some time (ever since they launched the Snowise EX range), and here’s my performance report for it
I say…
In true Amore Pacific style, anything with an EX in its name is a souped-up version of the previous range. (If you’re a Laneige fan, you’ll know what I’m talking about hah) I was using the Sulwhasoo Snowise Whitening Serum before, and after I finished that, I moved on to this, like a good and loyal brand supporter.
- This version is about the same as the previous one – the serum has a slight acrid smell to it, sort of lemony.
- The texture is also about the same – a slightly thicker-than-your-usual liquid products, but not a gel either. It’s thick enough to not drip all over your hands, but liquid enough to be quickly absorbed. (am I making any sense? haha)
- It also doesn’t leave any sticky residue – in fact, it even leaves my skin feeling a leeeetle bit plumped up after application.
- Like its predecessor, it provides good skintone whitening effects – I usually team this with the Snowise Whitening Cream (oopsie, just realised I haven’t reviewed the Cream), and the next day, my skin will be more radiant and fairer. It doesn’t bleach my skin – just brightens it.
- Don’t apply it to open wounds though – it can sting a bit. I had itchy fingers and went to squeeze a pimple, and followed up with my usual regime. The other products such as the First Care Activating Serum and the
- I also use this to even out those horrid pimple scars, although it’s not really its main aim. Sulwhasoo has a Snowise Spot Whitening Serum if you want targeted spot whitening.
In all, this is a whitening serum that works well – it doesn’t dry my skin out much after application, it evens out my overall skintone and also makes me look brighter/more radiant and in a warped way, less grouchy looking. It’s a little pricey at SGD236 though, so I guess it really depends on your budget. Personally, I like this product, and I would buy another bottle once it finishes.
