Sugared Walnuts

The combination of having sugared walnuts right after your other wise healthy lunch ideas was kind of immature when I had first heard of it. But it was just the opposite. Not only does it satisfy your belly, this sugared walnuts does infact makes you have a lovely after taste as well. Just like when you have your favorite desserts right after your otherwise healthy lunch ideas or any other meal and the desserts in one way or another makes you crave for more. Exactly same thing happened to me when I first had this sugared walnuts. Now if you do not understand about the feeling which I am talking about, than I can only suggest you give this sugared walnuts a try and see for yourself. Let us know once you have given it a try.

Ingredients:

  • 2 c Walnut halves, raw
  • 1 c Peanut oil
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
Directions:
  1. Blanch walnut halves for 30 seconds; drain.
  2. While still slightly damp, dredge nuts in Sugar.
  3. Spread them out to dry.
  4. Heat oil in wok to about 200 degrees, or until a test walnut browns in about 30seconds.
  5. If walnut is too dark, oil is too Hot.
  6. Deep-fry nuts, 1/2 cup at a time.
  7. Sugar will melt and form a thin, hard outer shell.
  8. Cool and cover until ready to serve
