St. Jude Theatre of Dreams

By Fitnspicy @fitnspicy

One of the best things about blogging is the chance to give back in the community through events like St. Jude’s Theatre of Dreams. Many of us know a family that has been impacted by a serious children’s illness. The toll of that illness has a profound effect on any family, financially and emotionally.

Thankfully St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital is there to support these families. But they can’t do it without major donations. When a family goes to St. Jude they do not pay anything, the donations help get families to and from Memphis, provide lodging, meals and of course that essential treatment.

This past Thursday St. Jude had a fundraising event at Stages Children Theatre and I received four tickets to attend. Bridget, myself and her kids Alex and Grace went to see a special performance of The Wiz put on by an incredible theater company. These kids were amazing! With a lobby full of fun activities like hand mold making, coloring, airbrush tattoos and a pizza party pretty much every kid there was in heaven. Events like these help raise as much as $30,000 for children’s cancer research. And I can’t think of a better cause!
