Sleep… Or Lack Of It

Let’s talk sleep. I hope everyone else is actually sleeping. At least better than I do! I tend to go in cycles of sleeping decently and then hardly at all. Right now it’s the hardly at all cycle.


Sleep… Or Lack Of It


6 is about my average and usually I get 1-2 hours of sound sleep. Not enough! In an effort to try to turn that in a better direction I am focusing on a few things:


  1. In bed by 9 (I get up at 5 most days during the week)
  2. Keeping a cool room
  3. Closing the curtains to make the room as dark as possible
  4. Socks. It’s crazy but I do think it’s helped and I had stopped doing this for a while.
  5. Lavender oil. I’m not one of those crazy essential oils will cure everything kind of people, I buy mine at Whole Foods and put it on my feet and a few drops on the pillow.
  6. Making a to-do list the night before. No need to be up at 2am thinking about everything that needs to be done later that day.


If I make small changes I am hoping I can get back to a slightly better routine and increase the number of hours. 7 would be wonderful, 8 would be downright euphoric.
