Happy October, everyone! I know a lot of people say that this is their favorite time of year, but I truly feel like I come alive when the temperature gets a little cooler and the leaves start changing. I tried out a lot of things during the last month of summer, so this might be a pretty lengthy post.
The first product is something I happened across at TJ Maxx. We have all heard about the Artis brushes. They are pretty pricey, but there are plenty of affordable brushes, including the O! Wow Brush by Cailyn Cosmetics. This one appears to be a good bit smaller than the Artis foundation brushes and it has a tapered end. It applies foundation and concealer beautifully! It blends everything out perfectly. It has become my new favorite foundation brush.
This next product is something I found at Marshall's. It isn't a beauty product, but I must share it with you guys. It is the SpaRoom Aromafier. This is personal diffuser for essential oils. It is battery powered or you can use the USB cord that is included. It also lights up and changes colors. I love having it around. It makes my house smell amazing and it doesn't take up a lot of space.
If you need a stylish, well made handbag but you are on a budget, check out Sole Society. I got a bag from them awhile back and finally put it to use last month. It is amazing. It was only $49, but it looks like a high end purse. Unfortunately, they don't have it on Nordstrom's site (even though I just checked a week or two ago). They have other great styles to choose from, though.
There was a lot of buzz about Jouer's Lip Creme's and their Skinny Dip over the summer. It took me awhile, but I finally tried them. The lip creme I got is called Cassis an it is amazing. They have probably the best liquid lipstick formula I have tried. Skinny Dip is gorgeous. It is gorgeous on its own or over matte lipsticks. The best part is that it actually stays on for a long time versus a typical gloss.
I have a few skincare products to mention, and you probably already know what they are. The first is Neogen's Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Foam. This stuff is an amazing cleanser. It is gentle, but very effective. The second one is the new serum by Scalisi Skincare. It doesn't have an official name because they had a contest to let their fans name it, but it is available for pre-order and launches on November 1st. I have noticed a positive change in my skin since using it and I couldn't be happier. My overall tone has improved immensely. The last skincare product I have been loving is also by Neogen. Their Lemon Bio-Peel Gauze is great for acne prone skin or anyone looking to brighten their skin. These pads have both chemical and physical exfoliation, they are gentle, and smell amazing.
Oh, and I can't forget about The Estee Edit's Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm. Influenster sent this to me and I honestly didn't expect to love it so much. It is lightweight, but very hydrating. My eyes look more awake and less puffy since I started using it in late August.
I've gotten to where I prefer brow gels over powders because they are a lot faster and easier to use. My favorite one at the moment is Essence's Make Me Brow, which is not only a fantastic product, it is also very budget friendly and easy to use. I love this even more than Wet n Wild's Ultimate Brow Mascara because the applicator is smaller and more precise.
A mascara that I have been enjoying is from Wet n Wild's fall collection. It is their Color Icon Color Mascara in bronze. It doesn't do anything dramatic to your lashes, but I love the color. It makes my eyes stand out and it is great for those no makeup makeup days.
I am obsessed with The Nightmare Before Christmas. Walgreens has a lot of amazing products for Halloween and I found some really cute mugs. The one pictured is of Zero, but I also have the Jack Skellington one.
So, there we have it. I am sorry for getting this up later than normal, but this week has already been a little crazy. I have a lot of exciting stuff to share with you guys, so stay tuned!
