Like any respectable Disney fan out there, I knew I had to have a few pieces from Sephora's new Minnie Mouse Collection. After reading reviews and seeing the products in person, I only purchased two things. One of which is this eyeliner duo. Keep in my mind these eyeliners are part of Sephora's permanent range, but the cute packaging makes things even better.
This set includes two felt tip liquid liners in the shades Little Black Dress and Bone White. Both shades dry down to a matte finish, and Little Black Dress has amazing color payoff. I was actually surprised by how dark Little Black Dress is with only one swipe. You don't have to keep going over it to get an intense line. Bone White is a little less impressive. I do need to build it up a few times to reach opacity.
I was a little worried about these because when I swatched them on my arm, Little Black Dress bled badly. Fortunately, that didn't happen on my eyes. After I swatched them, I tried to smudge them a little with my finger and nothing really happened. Bone White faded a little bit, but not Little Black Dress.
Oh, and they remove fairly easily with makeup remover. You may have remnants of Little Black Dress left over, though.
Both shades apply well. The formulation is thin, but not too runny. They glide on without any skipping or tugging on the eyelid, or even the lower lash line. It takes a minute or so for them to dry down completely, so be cautious. They can transfer, but that has only happened to me a couple of times. I love the applicator of these liners. It reminds of Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner, but a little more firm. They allow for precise application and you can easily achieve a simple or dramatic look.
The staying power is excellent for Little Black Dress. It doesn't budge or fade at all. It keeps the same intense pigment throughout the day. Bone White doesn't perform quite as good. I have used it mostly along my lower lash line for graphic eye looks, and it does fade a little bit after a few hours.
Like I said earlier, these shades and liners are part of Sephora's permanent line and they are $14 each. However, you can get this duo for $20. Plus you get the adorable Minnie Mouse packaging, and a phone charm. That is the way to go.
I have been enjoying these liners a lot since I purchased them and I recommend giving them a try. But only in this limited edition set. Otherwise, I feel you could find something every bit as good at the drugstore. You can find these on Sephora's site, a free-standing store, and Sephora Inside JC Penney.
I hope you guys are having a fabulous weekend and I will be back soon with a summer inspired face of the day post.
See you soon!
