I think the reason why I never took a fancy to The Walkng Dead was because I am sort of the walking dead. Every morning at 4.30am, I drag my carcass out of bed (sometimes with a moan and a groan, other times with a grunt and a lurch), and commence that half-dead feet shuffle to the toilet. Makeup is usually a routine, but the morning that I tried on these Magnetic Eye Colors from Nudestix, I came aliveeeeee. They’re so purdeee!!
Nudestix Magnetic Eye Color – S$69 (for 3)
Note: It’s a tin of 3 (Angel, Twilight, Immortal + sharpener, retails for S$69), but I had another 1 (retails for S$34), so I shot all 4 together.
From L-R: Spirit, Angel, Immortal and Twilight- Spirit: A mauve-tinged brown-grey
- Angel: Peach pearly shimmer, perfect for lining the under-eye area for aegyo sal
- Immortal: A medium hazelnut brown
- Twilight: A light shade of grey-brown
I say…
The Packaging: Like the Lip + Cheek Pencils, they also come in a matte black tin casing measuring 13cm long, 4.5cm across and about 3cm tall. The lid comes with an inbuilt mirror that is slightly contorted i.e. think: funhouse mirrors. As much as I appreciate the effort in giving a mirror, I’d rather not use it cos it makes me slightly giddy to use it. The set also comes with a sharpener that comes with its own cap, and get this – the sharpener itself can be used as a cap for the pencil too@
The Scent: Nil.
The Texture: It glides on smoothly without dragging on the skin, and surprise, surprise – it settles into a rather matte and powdery finish! It does, amayzingly, have seemingly magnetic properties and adheres to the eyelids strongly enough. That said, these “magnetic” properties can work against it – make sure that you blend your eyeshadows in before they set, or else they won’t budge.
The Verdict: I used to think that the CLIO and Make Up For Ever ones were really good… until I tried these. It’s been 6 hours since I applied these eye colors, and they have not smudged in the least bit – in fact, they haven’t even settled into the creases of the double eyelids. That’s really amayzing because I have ridonkulously oily eyelids. I’m seriously very impressed with this line of products – like their Lip + Cheek pencils (which moisturise the lips so well), these also contain Vitamin E and Shea butter. I’m very much inspired to try out more of their products naooo. And yes, you should totally, totally get these! Available exclusively from Sephora stores or at Sephora.sg here.
