Don’t you just love the whole highlighting trend? Nah, I’m not talking about the OTT strobings and walking-disco-ball looks (although I do qualify for the walking-ball part), but it’s more of the depth and dimension you can create just by playing on lighting and reflection.

The Packaging: A dropper tool glass bottle. A drop or two of the highly pigmented product is more than enough for one application.
The Scent: Nil.
The Texture: A liquid that spreads and blends very easily and smoothly. At first application, it can come across as being incredibly pigmented (which it is, so one drop is more than enough), but because of its watery consistency, it sheers out easily. Although it mostly sits well on the surface of the skin, some shades (the richer shades) may emphasize uneven skin textures if you’re applying a thicker layer.
The Application: You can choose to apply it using your fingers, but because of the strong pigments (which might thus result in you having unevenly blended dots of the product on the face), this is the one time I prefer to use a makeup brush. A professional makeup tip (from a pro makeup artist friend of mine) is to put one drop on the back of your hand and spread it out. Tap the brush against your little “pool” of product to pick up it up and gently sweep across your face, followed by some blending motions. This works well for me, but I do realize that there’s quite an amount of product residue on the back of the hand. Sometimes, I prefer to just sweep the brush hair ends against the stem of the dropper (you can see in the photos above that there’s plenty to pick up), and then just stipple it across the areas. For bolder looks, you can do a swipe across the areas using your fingertips.
The Finish: Glow, baybeh, glow! This gives a satin-matte finish, and isn’t overly shiny. What’s more, even though it’s highly pigmented, the shimmer specks are very fine, which means you’ll end up with a glowy effect with slight dewiness (rather than an all-out metallic shine).
The Verdict: They perform really well – whether you’re using your fingers or a makeup brush, these are buildable from a sheer sheen to a strong strobing effect. Besides using them on their own, you can also add them to your foundation or primer for an extra touch of glow. I love that it lasts pretty long as well – they can go for 6-7 hours without fading. I’m also glad to report that it hasn’t melted much despite this humid weather. This is said to be useable in almost any makeup situation – for you lucky gurls with good skin, this can mixed into your moisturiser for a natural glow. It can also be a lip topper, highlighter for the Cupid’s Bow/brow bone/nose bridge, work as a sheer pearlesque eyeshadow, mixed into your body lotions – woah, this is one helluva versatile product. Plus, because of its high pigmentation, one drop is legit all you need, which means this bottle is gonna last a long, looong time.
