Review: Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser

By Beautifulbuns

At times, I’m guilty of overlooking drugstore brands – what can I say? I’m like a magpie – I’m attracted to sparkly shiny thangs and most drugstore brands don’t have the most exciting packagings. But on occasion, I give them a try, and voila – I’m an instant convert! Granted, this may not be the newest product in the market, but at least it’s new in Singapore – better late than never I say! (p.s. have you voted for me yet? I know I’m in the lead for now, but the damned voting ends on 6 July, and there’s this girl who’s been garnering a good 30-50 votes per day, which means she’ll be overtaking me in due time :( So pleaseeeee vote!)

The cover of the spray nozzle can be rotated to cover the nozzle and to prevent accidental discharge (kinda like a lock)

Simply twist the cover (you’ll hear a clicking sound), and it’s locked and safe for transportation even in your luggage!

It fits into the palm of a lady’s hand, and one spray is designed to dispense just enough for the surface of your arm

I say…

The Packaging: A tall, matte-finish spray bottle (using compressed air rather than harmful aerosols/CFCs) that fits comfortably into my palm (which can be considered an average female size).

The Scent: A fragrant, lightweight refreshing scent that’s not too overpowering. There’s some fruity cucumber in there if I’m not wrong.

The Application: The recommended application is to hold the nozzle 10cm away and spray it onto your body in one fluid motion (from the ankles upwards to the thigh). Note that if you hold it too far, the spray might fall onto the ground (resulting in slippery floors). I prefer holding it closer to my body so that I can get most of the product onto my body. Once done, you are supposed to massage it into the skin, and the marketing spiel says that it’s absorbed within seconds – I’d say it’s more like 30 seconds for full massaging and absorption of the product. That said, once it’s in, woah mama – the skin is feeling fabulous! It also functions upside down so that you can apply it onto your back, but my inflexibility means I can spray it on but can’t quite reach the spots to massage it in lolol. Oh well, that’s why I need a hot cabana boy :D

The Texture: Le skin feels softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated. What’s more, the fully-absorbed product leaves my skin feeling velvety smooth and I don’t find my body sticking to my bedsheets! YAY! This is a hugeeee issue in humid Singapore, where I’m actually guilty of skipping my body moisturiser just because I don’t like that feeling of having something on the skin. Heh.

The Verdict: Now that I have this product, I find myself conscientiously applying body moisturiser everyday before going to work and before going to bed. :D There are other variations, such as the Dry Repair one, which is slightly more intensive in terms of moisturising (and needs about 15 seconds more to be absorbed), but still leaves a relatively velvety finish. In fact, when I first tried the Aloe Soothe version at the launch event, I couldn’t stop touching myself just cos my skin felt so gooood. You should get it too!
