And it’s Monday and life sucks againnnnn. I kid, I kid. I have a lot to be thankful for in my life, and though I may suffer from the Blues like everyone else, it doesn’t mean I can’t see the positives and draw cheer from them (such as from these gorgeous cheek colours from Tom Ford).

The Packaging: A sexy sleek square measuring 7cm x 7cm and a mere 1cm tall. Its edges are smooth and rounded like a pebble, and there’s a gold gilded edge running all around it. The brand is inscribed into the clasp where you open it. It opens up to reveal more gold inside as well as a mirror. Now I appreciate the sexy gold reflective finish cos it’s all luxe, but at times, when I’m looking at my own reflection in the mirror, it sometimes goes into those Funhouse mirror effect cos part of me will be gold-tinged and slightly warped.
The Scent: nil.
The Texture: Very lightweight cream-to-almost powder finish. It glides smoothly onto the skin and the moistness of the cream lasts long enough for you to blend the color into your cheeks before settling into a glowy but somewhat-powdery (non-creamy) finish.
The Verdict: Any product from Tom Ford is enough to make a beauty junkie go ooh~ and ahh~ based on just its packaging (just like its Patent Finish Lips), but this one also has a pretty decent color payoff. It’s pigmented enough to show up after 2 coats, and won’t be too daunting for a makeup noob to attempt blending with. The pink is tinged with faint gold shimmers that will turn up as a dewy, glowy finish which helps to emphasize those cheekbones (and in this case I’m obviously referring to shade Pink Sand). Pineo Sole is more of a contour which may require a higher level of expertise to blend in, especially if you’re using at the sides of the nose bridge as well as the jawline. Overall, I’m pretty happy with this cream blusher – it gives a natural rosy flush with a dewy finish, and sits well on my combi-oily skin for hours without fading much. The one downside (as with most Tom Ford products) is its pricing – at US$65, it also induces an “ouch” from the wallet along with the “oohs” and “ahhs” from our lips.
