Anddd it’s Polling Day in Singapore! I have yet to vote cos I’m scheduled for work today (bummer!), but hey, as long as I cast my vote, I’d have done my duties. Everytime I head to the polling stations, I have this insane and irrepresible urge to snigger. I have no idea why – it’s the uber sombre mood that just makes me want to burst out laughing, especially when juxtaposed against the usual image of Singaporeans complaining about virtually everything under the sun. Ah well. I guess there’s no better time than during polling day to act cool hurhurhur. Anyhoos, here’s something else that makes me want to smile – Etude House x Kerrie Hess Dreaming Swan lipsticks!
Etude House Dreaming Swan Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk Lipstick
Note that because my lips are too dry, I’d applied some Vaseline on the lips before trying this product out.

The Packaging: There’s not much you can fault with this lipstick – it’s not a new product cos the Dear My Blooming-Lips Talk is an existing range of products, but these are new colours. They come in signature Etude House-style, it’s prettily pink with a white bow and a frosted matte finishing on the plastic tube. This limited edition range has 5 colours.
The Scent: Lovely, fragrant typical Etude House Scent that I love.
The Texture: It glides on smoothly and easily, and even though it’s a matte finish, it surprisingly doesn’t draw too much attention to the fine lines of the lips. One coat isn’t overly pigmented – it’s a good mix of sheer and pigmented, so one coat gives a natural reddish tinge, while several coats really brings the color to a higher intensity level.
The Verdict: I love it! The color is a wearable one for both day and buildable for a night-time usage, and even though it’s a matte finish, there’s a very slight gloss effect there. After some wear time (say 2-3 hours), it does sink into the lines of the lips (which is inevitable cos it is a matte finish lippie). I try to get around it by applying some vaseline or lip balm prior to the lipstick, and it does help in staving off the too-matte and too-dry effect. As always, I’m a huge fan of Etude House lippies (and their color products) because of their affordable price tags as well as their rather-decent performance.
