Can you believe that it's ALREADY the last day of September!? I seriously can't believe it! Time has definitely been whizzing by! I can't wait for the weather to start turning crisp so I can bring out my scarves and peacoats again! I LOVE LOVE Fall/Winter clothing~
In any case, on to the product we're going to be talking about today! As you can see this is the "Advanced Triple Functions BB Cream" from Skin79! I personally have never seen this particular BB cream in all the time that I've been searching for the holy grail BB cream. Based on the name, I'm assuming that this is the higher end version of the three other colored labels since those label are referred to as the "Super Plus Triple Functions BB Creams." My mom's friend got it from one of their friends when they returned from Korea! I don't think this is a Korea-exclusive product based on research but this one is definitely not as popular as the other ones. I'm not sure why Skin79 decided not to promote this one as heavily as the other ones.
Keep reading after the jump to learn more about this product!Apparently this was promoted in Taiwan although I didn't see it on shelves the last time I went to Taiwan since Jolin Tsai did a huge advertorial on this product! For those of you who don't know who Jolin Tsai is, she's a huge megastar in Taiwan. She works very hard on her music and her videos which definitely shows. Check out some of her music videos! In terms of claims, I didn't see much difference between this version and all the other versions until the above picture came up during my research! Fullerene! WHAT!? This is supposed to be a very good ingredient for soaking up free radicals and I'm assuming the emphasis for this one is prevention of skin damage! Lots of higher end skincare lines tote this ingredient in their products as a way to reverse or minimize the amount of damage done to the skin as a result of free radicals in the environment. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME!
Packaging
The packaging overall is pretty good. Pretty sturdy although the pump could eventually be a problem once the product begins to run low. The only reason why I dislike these types of bottling or packaging is because of the fact that they don't provide any sort of indication of how much you have left. Maybe in the future they'll put a sort of clear bar on the side (ONE CAN ONLY HOPE!). I really like the coloring for this packaging mostly because it's very classy and "expensive" looking. All dark red and gold is elegant and makes it look less like your typical BB cream.
Swatches
The consistency for this BB cream is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much smoother than both the gold label and the pink label! I briefly tested the orange label one so I can't compare that one too much but overall, this version beats out all of the other versions in my opinion. It does blend relatively well and does finish matte like it claims. Unfortunately this BB cream does run a little bit pink so it's a big no-no for my skin. Color-wise it isn't as pale as some of the other Skin79 creams but it still is a little bit too pale even though I'm NC20. This would be more suitable for people with skin lighter than mine and with pink/neutral undertones.
Oil Test This is the main area where this particular BB cream had problems. LOOK AT ALL THAT OIL PRODUCED! The first shot is after 3 hours and the second is after 9 hours. My face was a greaseball at the end of the day and I definitely needed to blot at least once throughout the day. Although this isn't a deal breaker since many foundations require blotting throughout the day, I'd prefer it if it was my face producing the oil rather than my base makeup.
Thoughts
Overall, I thought that this BB cream did perform well. I wouldn't say that this BB cream performed better than the KATE one but it does have decent coverage and it does blend well. I think that people with dry to normal skin would do very well with this BB cream particularly since this does help with moisture. I think that the ingredients in this particular BB cream could possibly outweigh all of these negative points particularly because of the Fullerene ingredient. I have yet to see evidence of whitening but my skin did feel smoother after repeated uses. Despite my need for smoother skin, I think that I will end up passing on using this because A. it's hard to find and B. it produces a little bit too much oil for my liking. I do think it warrants some trying for other people who LOVE BB creams. I'll personally stick to my LOVELY KATE Mineral Gel BB Cream :3
