I’ve been on a string of bad (cleanser) luck lately – I had a horrid breakout cos of Innisfree’s Green Tea cleanser (yes, yes, I will swear off their Green Tea line from now on, especially after my bad experience with the super-popular Green Tea Seed Serum). In an attempt to rectify the damage done, I switched to this gentle cleanser from Senka.

I say…
- Because the previous cleanser from Innisfree I was using was too harsh and stripped my face of its natural emollients, I decided to switch over to this one.
- It comes in a plastic bottle with a pump.
- You can hear the liquid sloshing inside the bottle – I assume it goes into a foam form once it comes out from the pump.
- The pump is easy to press down without having to flex much of my non-existent biceps.
- It’s a convenient dispense system without having to wrestle with twist-caps or click caps.
- One pump dispenses a large blob, but bearing in mind that half of it is air, I usually go for 2-3 pumps for my entire face.
- It is soft and fluffy and retains much of its form until you press it against your face for the cleansing session. Then, you’ll hear it go fizzle fizzle fizzle fo’schizzle ma’nizzle? the entire time.
- It has a slight tendency to go up my nose but it’s fine as long as you do some artful maneuvering of the foam.
- It leaves my skin soft, but to be really honest, since my face is kinda like an Arab’s oilfield dream by the end of the day, I find that this gentle cleanser doesn’t really remove all of the dirt. In fact, I have to do my cleansing routine twice (with the second time involving my Clarisonic).
- As much as I detest the squeaky clean tight feeling, I also would like to feel a vague semblance of a clean face – this one doesn’t really give me that satisfaction, as though I’ve still got 5% dirt somewhere, despite my cotton pad with the Hera Cell Essence being clean without any residual traces of dirt. It’s just that kinda fewling, ya’know?
- One-third through this bottle and I gave up, and switched to a Belif cleanser (review to come soon cos I loves eet).
Overall, I’d say this cleanser is more for a girl with really good skin or low sebum production rate. It’s a gentle cleanser that’s convenient and doesn’t result in any adverse reactions, but just a tad too gentle for my liking.
