For a (shameful) period of my life, I skipped the sunblock / sunscreen portion of my beauty regime, simply cos I was lazy. I can’t be the only one who derives a secret joy from seeing the SPF50 factor on a foundation or BB cream right? Cos this means “yay I get sun protection but I skip applying on layer of product on my skin”. Alas, the limits of my laziness know no bounds.
However, this has come to a screeching halt since I started discovering random spots on my face and body – oh yes, the past of SPF-less suntanning has come back to haunt me. This urge was made even stronger after my Kbeauty craze came on about 5 years back, and I learned that (most) Korean men like them skins milky and white. Bring on the sun creams baybeh!

Orbis is a relatively newcomer to Singapore’s beauty scene, having only arrived last year (1 counter at Robinsons Orchard and 1 standalone store at Junction 8 Bishan). But hey, this means more treasure for me to unearth then :D
- This comes in a petite plastic bottle with a twist-open cap.
- You’ll have to shake it well before application, presumably to ensure that the contents and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- The liquid is very watery and comes in an ivory color.
- There’s not much scent.
- The liquid flows across the skin, and barely feels like I’ve applied anything.
- It brightens up the skin to a certain extent (as proven by the photos above).
- To me, it’s actually kinda like the lingerie version of suncare – it’s nude and makes your skin look that more delectable.
- It is meant to be used as a makeup item, and works as a brightening base (not so much as a primer cos it doesn’t have strong holding qualities like The Face Shop Natural Sun Eco Power Long-Lasting Sun Cream)
- Don’t expect any coverage from this though – it is a lightweight sunblock product after all.
- I wouldn’t advise this for beach or sunny-day usage cos it’s only SPF34.
Instead, I’d recommend this double-tasker for summer seasons, or for weekends when you want to let your skin breathe and relax from all the layers of makeup cake usually applied during the week days. You don’t do that, you say? Sigh I guess that leaves me as the only one who’s piling the face paint on.
