I’m not sure about you guys, but I’ve never really gotten what the fuss about KUWTK was about – evidently, here’s one who can’t keep up with the kardashians hurhurhur. In any case, because of my freelance writing gigs, I’ve gotten to know more about them and the trends related, especially the Kylie Jenner lip thingy. I may not be a fan but damn, that girl has some nice lips and amayzing lip-painting skills. When I was trying out this product, for a fleeting moment, I felt like her. Continue reading to find out how I ended up with a far-out comparison heh.
Nudestix Lip + Cheek Pencil (X’mas edition, minis)
Note that these colours are still available in regular sizes
Every tin container contains a special sharpener for your Nudestix pencils (and I hear that the blade is a special one made in Germany for a better and closer sharpening)Look at this gorgeous shade! Does it not remind you of Kylie Jenner’s lips?I say…
The Packaging: All of Nudestix’s products come in a tin can that contains an inbuilt mirror (on the inner side of the lid), as well as a sharpener. Now I’m loving the sharpener because: a) I don’t have to hunt for one that’s in the right side, b) it comes with a cap! How considerate is that?, and c) the sharpener can even be popped onto the pencils to be used as a cap. I was also told that the blade of the sharpener is from Germany. Very handy indeed.
The Scent: Nil.
The Texture: Smoothhhh like Usher, like Drake, like one of them smooth R&B Hip-hop artists. This contains Vitamin E, peptides, Shea butter and a whole host of other moisturising ingredients. It literally glides onto the skin and is so creamy – you can see the tip getting blunt (i.e. getting shorter) as you use it. This product is certified USDA organic, has been dermatologist-tested for the most sensitive skin, and it is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and free of preservatives and fragrance.
The Verdict: I love it! I totally see why Sephora would want to bring them in – it’s so easy to apply, it glides onto your lips super easily and smoothly, and when it wears out (after the average eating and drinking), leaves a very slight tint (if you’re wearing the brighter reds). What’s more, I can feel a distinctive increase in my lip’s hydration levels – it’s not as flaky and chapped as it would normally be. What’s more, the matte colours (which I generally shy away from because of my terribly dry lips) came out gorgeous! It did not sink into the lines of my lips to make them look icky, but instead, slightly plumped them up, made them look more moisturised and gave a nice matte finish. I’m super excited to try out the other shades hehehe. They’re also super convenient to carry around for touch-ups – kinda like a moisturising lip balm combined with a lipstick. I’m super impressed! These also come in concealers as well as eyeshadows – read more about them here.
Nudestix is now available exclusively at Sephora in Singapore. Go get your hands on them nao!
