Review: Nature Republic The First Ampoule Essence

By Beautifulbuns

Since I got such good results with Nature Republic’s The First Treatment Essence, I was pretty happy to browse the shelves of Nature Republic the last time I went in October 2014. I decided that I’d try another item in the same line (since I didn’t have any adverse reactions).

I say…

The Packaging: It’s a pretty compact, short and stout bottle with a pump system that delivers enough for the entire face with just 1-2pumps (depending on your personal preference).

The Scent: There’s not much scent to this product, which I’m fine with.

The Texture: It’s a clear gel which spreads and is absorbed easily. It doesn’t leave any residue whatsoever – barely any patting is needed to set it in too.

The Aftermath: I know this says Ampoule Essence but I use it as a starting serum because it’s pretty lightweight in consistency. I tested this out on the left side of the face for a month, and continued using Hanyul’s Optimising Serum on the right side. The (left side of the face) skin feels slightlyyyy firmer and a leeetle bitty bit more refreshed. On the bright side, I haven’t had any breakouts to this product and it helps soften the skin after I cleanse it. On the downside, there doesn’t seem to be much benefits of this product –  I barely notice any difference in terms of radiance, firmness nor hydration.

The Verdict: This one is kinda meh to me – I wouldn’t buy another bottle of it once it’s finished, and I’m not particularly inspired to finish this either. Ah well, at least it’s a small bottle so it will finish faster. I’ll still recommend the pricier (but more effective) Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum and the Hanyul one.
