Review: Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher

By Beautifulbuns

Yoohoo~! I know at times we can get a bit lazy when it comes to our beauty regime – after waxing my brows at Benefit, I’ve suddenly gotten into the groove of drawing my brows (psst: you should do it to, cos only in the month of May, all proceeds raised from their brow waxing services will go towards charity!). Alas, that came at  the expense of my blush. Don’t ask me why – like the Backstreet Boys say, tell me why, ain’t nothin’ but a heartache (to see that ghastly pale face at 5am in the morning hurhurhur).

Anyhoos, I’m glad to report that I’ve found a blusher that has rekindled my love for applying cheek color. Heh.

I say…

The Packaging: A very convenient dual-ended blush-and-brush combi. Both sides come with click-on caps (which I hope will not get looser over time). It’s a rather chubby stick, but not so fat that you can’t grip it comfortably. Twist the stick and the blush portion will be extended.

The Scent: It doesn’t have a fragrance, but there’s a slight whiff of something that smells a little.. not-so-nice. It doesn’t stink per se, but it just isn’t the best-smelling thing I’ve encountered. Thankfully, it’s just a faint scent.

The Texture: A rather smooth and creamy (not the most lightweight) blusher that’s easy to blend out, whether you’re using the attached brush or your finger tips. I love that the color is so wearable that it blends out super easily, and I’m pretty sure all makeup noobs will have no trouble putting your fingers to the test. I appreciate the brush though – it’s soft and not abrasive whatsoever (feels like synthetic hairs cos it’s really, really soft and smooth). That said, I find that it ends up picking up some cheek color so my cheeks have less pink on them.

The Verdict: I actually really like this blush! It is easy to blend at home (with clean fingertips) and out on the go (with the brush end), and has a slight glowy finish to it that’s believable and not OTT. It also comes in a range of colours that could be used as highlighting / contouring sticks. It’s also pretty affordable (I think I bought mine for less than $10). It lasts pretty long (say 6 hours) as well. Me likey! You go geddit naosss.
