I’ve recently been slightly obsessed with Sistar’s Shake It video (I know, I’m about a year too late). Heh. Anyway, after binge viewing their live performances, I noticed that Bora’s blusher covers more than the apples of her cheeks – which I love – and they make her look so fresh and summer-ready. This has inspired me to whip out a new blusher to attempt the same effect. Kbeauty FTW!

Mille Beaute’s range of products are very girly, with a touch of glam in terms of gold here and there. The French Kiss lipstick in the center (with the star-shaped bullet) is pretty moisturising with good color pigmentation (check out my review here).

The Packaging: A slim compact with an inbuilt mirror as well as an accompanying kabuki brush which is very soft. While I appreciate the free brush (and it’s of decent quality), it’s a tad too small for proper blush application – a larger brush is more appropriate so that you can sweep the color over (whether it’s in patting or circular motions). This small kabuki brush concentrates the color in one area, and you’ll need a lot of blending to smoothen the brush strokes (which can be seen even if you pick up just a bit of colour). That said, the brush can be channeled to other purposes, such as for highlighting the nose bridge, cheekbones.
The Scent: A fragrant rose/floral scent.
The Texture: Finely milled powder grains that have medium-level pigmentation, and yet doesn’t have much fall out.
The Verdict: A pretty blusher that is pretty decent in terms of performance as well. It goes onto the skin smoothly without sinking into the enlarged pores, and thus sits nicely to give a rosy flush. There’s medium-level pigmentation, so while a single layer gives a mild and natural flush, several layers can give a more intense drunken pink (if that rocks your boat hurhurhur). It doesn’t oxidise, doesn’t get patchy, and lasts pretty long (unless you’re rubbing your cheeks obsessively). Now its listed price is Bt795 (SGD$32), but it also seems to be on sale for Bt635 (SGD$25) on the website– both prices are somewhat on the higher end, taking into consideration that this is not an international brand (eg Dior, YSL, Chanel). Perhaps it’s to incorporate the brush/brand image? Anyhoos, a little will go a long way, so this could very well last you for 6 months or more.
