When it comes to hair care products, I swear by oils to hydrate my hair and smooth the feel of dryness, damage and split ends. Macadamia nut oil is well regarded for its super nourishing properties for hair, nails and skin. It is high in Omega 7 fatty acids, calcium, iron, phosphorous and B complex. This ultra-lightweight formula can be worn as a leave in conditioning treatment which forms a thin barrier around the hair cuticle preventing moisture from escaping. Moreover, this oil treatment is fast absorbing and never feels greasy. This Macadamia nut oil makes my dry and damaged hair feel softer and silkier while controlling frizz. In addition, it can be used on dry or damp hair, and before or after heat styling. As you may be wondering, macadamia nut oil performs very similarly to argon/Moroccan oil. The macadamia nut oil has a thinner consistency and has a sweet coconut like scent. Both products are also similar in pricing so it all comes down to personal preference.
It makes for a great pick-me-up in between shampoos, but I’ll admit there are effective and cheaper oils out there, such as olive oil, coconut oil and castor oil. These however, are a lot more greasy and heavy, and you don’t feel instant results, but they are perfect for deep oil treatments at home. This Mark Anthony Macadamia Nut Oil cost just under $10 and you only need a few drops so one 50mlbottle gives you a lot of product and goes a long way. Mark Anthony can be purchased in some salons, and most drugstores, although I am not sure if this brand is sold outside of Canada or not. What has been your experience using macadamia nut hair care products?
