Review: Laneige Anti-Ageing BB Cushion / Laneige BB Cushion_Anti Aging [must-try!]

By Beautifulbuns

Yoohoo~! Now I know that BB cushions are the rage all around the globe, but for me, I’ve started using them since.. 2011 (around there?), and the hype for me is dying down. It’s rare for me to hype about a BB cushion nowadays, cos there’s always one part about it that I won’t like, be it the level of dewiness (too shiny), or the moisture levels (too dry/matte) etc. But yaasssss, finally I have found one that more or less suits most of my needs!

I say…

The Packaging: Your usual compact with the airlock tray that functions as a sponge holder, with an inbuilt mirror. This is the newer version of their BB cushion, so the refills are only compatible with each other (and not even with other AmorePacific brands such as Innisfree, Etude House etc). The cushion in this product is much denser and not as soft and “squishy” as the older version – when you sink the puff in, you barely see an oozing of product. I guess this helps to “conserve” the product and allow you to pick up a more appropriate amount to apply on the face.

The Scent: Wonderful signature Laneige BB cushion fragrance that only lingers on for a while after application.

The Texture: It goes on easily onto the skin, but use a patting motion rather than a drag-the-puff-across-your-face movement. This will allow you to get a better finish and coverage.

The Verdict: I’ve been wanting to try this version for a long time, but I guess I was distracted by the plethora of cushions being launched. It’s been a long time coming – although I know Laneige actively promotes the other two BB cushions (whitening, pore control) as its star products, I think this Anti Aging one should have more limelight. It gives medium-high coverage, covering most major blemishes and dark eye circles. It has a matte-glowy finish (say about 65% matte to 35% glowy), which means it’s not as matte looking as the Pore Control version, but not as shiny as the Whitening version. This also contains their Time Freeze technology, which means it’s skincare in a cushion (sure, it’s not as effective as applying skincare directly onto the skin, but hey, I’ll take whatever extra benefits they’re willing to pack in). The oil control is not strong – I found myself having to dab with tissues to soak up the extra shine about 3-4 hours in. That said, I love that it doesn’t get patchy on dry skin, doesn’t get cakey/oxidise on oily portions, and gives a brightening and radiant finish. It’s buildable so even when I touch up, it still looks (almost) freshly applied. After just a couple of uses, this has become my favorite BB cushion of the moment. GO TRY IT.
