[REVIEW] Kate Mineral BB Gel Cream

I finally got around to reviewing this product that I've been raving about since I've gotten it during my Taiwan haul! It is the KATE Mineral BB Gel Cream!  For those of you who know me pretty well, I normally dislike BB creams just because they can have such an ashy effect to your skin whereas foundation doesn't normally have that issue! Luckily, this BB cream came out this summer by KATE and I happened to be in Taiwan to be able to buy it!

This particular BB cream is special because of the fact that it combines a gel formula with a mineral formula making this particularly light and EXTREMELY easy to apply!

Such nondescript packaging! You'd never figure that this BB cream would CHANGE YOUR LIFE!

KATE is a Japanese BB Cream with a lightweight gel-like texture that gives skin dimension and radiance.

The BB gel-cream has the function of a beauty serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup base, and sheer foundation in one.  It contains "double effect mineral powder" to protect skin and cover visible pores, while its blend of olive, jojoba, and sweet oils moisturize skin.  The BB cream has light-diffusing pigments that reflect away imperfections, even skin tone, and add luster to skin.

This is a screenshot of the KATE website but here you can see how they describe their wonderful product.  But the highlight are the fact that this product is both moisturizing while allowing for a nice light finish.

PackagingThe packaging in general is very enjoyable.  The only thing that I can foresee being an issue is the fact that I would not be able to squeeze ALL of the product out for when I'm reaching the end of the tube but that can be easily fixed.  I like the simplicity of this packaging and it definitely makes for easy travel.  It is also small enough that I could feasibly carry this with me throughout the day for touch-ups (even though I never need touch-ups with this product).  When I brought this back from Taiwan, it also seemed to withstand a lot of pressure so I think that there wouldn't be very many problems.

As you can see, the base tone for this BB cream is very YELLOW which is PERFECT for my skin tone.  Most Korean BB creams run PINK on me which I absolutely ABHOR.  I hate seeing a pink undertone on my face and then have it abruptly turn into yellow on my neck.  That isn't very pretty...

The three shades could feasibly work for anyone from NC10-NC25 in my opinion.  I'm currently the second lightest shade in MAC's collection and OC-D still works for me although it's getting a bit dark.  DARN THAT SUNBURN! It's turned me SO DARK T^T

The other reason why I LOVE THIS BB CREAM is because of the fact that it blends like a dream.  Normally with other BB creams I have to blend constantly but this blends beautifully without very  much effort at all.
Oil Test
I decided to implement a new test I discovered  from cyexquisite and it's the OIL TEST! This would have been so awesome to know before buying anything that you buy for your face since this ultimately affects the length of wear on your skin.  As you can see, KATE's BB cream did a pretty good job.  The first picture is oil produced after 3 hours and the second picture is after 9 hours.   It produces minimal oil and won't affect your own oil production much either.  I normally don't have to blot very much even after a 10 hour shift at work.

Thoughts
Overall, I think that this BB cream is a WINNER.  I think I may have found my holy grail BB cream! This has been the base product I use EVERY DAY unless I need full coverage but that's very rare.  If your skin only has minor blemishes then I would say that this prodyct would be ideal for you.  Any other major blemishes should be covered with another  concealer.  For the most part, I use this ALL the time! It's easy to apply and takes two to three minutes tops to apply and blend.  I usually top it with an HD setting powder and BAM, I'm done with base makeup.  I do think that this bottle could come with more product but realistically you don't need much product to cover the entire face so I'm sold.  My MAIN problem is the fact that I can't get my hands on this readily! T^T  Must solve this problem IMMEDIATELY!

This retails for about 360-390 NTD so it's about $12-13.  Pretty decent for a holy grail product.  EXCITED!  I'll probably have my friend hoard these for me whenever they go back to Taiwan.
