Kanebo recently (well, in October 2016) launched a new prestige brand (both skincare and makeup) with a focus on “Chrono-Beauty” – and it also features a signature “teatopia” scent created from a combination of Japanese tea flowers. I’d previously reviewed their cleanser, and now, ’tis time to move on to their makeup hurhurhur.
Kanebo Full Radiance Foundation – SGD$82
I say…
The Packaging: A frosted glass bottle with a pump and a click-on cap.
The Scent: A rather pleasant floral fragrance, but it’s a pity it’s not strong enough to linger around after application.
The Texture: Very lightweight and smooth. Be sure to shake the foundation slightly before application.
The Verdict: Now when it’s freshly applied, it gives a lovely, natural, beautiful medium-coverage finish. The skin is brightened, radiant, and glowy / dewy at the appropriate parts. It’s also lightweight and has a semi-matte finish (with some mix of dewiness). That said, it doesn’t seem to have strong sebum control, cos just about 4 hours after application, I see oxidisation beginning, the corners of the nose are getting cakey due to sebum production, while the drier areas of the cheeks started getting patchy. In addition, the super oily areas (the nose) was really shiny – you can legit see the sebum pooling there – le sigh. These can all be alleviated with some dabbing of tissues or oil blotting films, which helps “set” the foundation again. Since the coverage is medium, you’ll need concealer for major blemishes and dark eye circles (no concealer was used for the photos above). Overall, I kinda like this foundation, and would probably use it for that weekend “no-makeup” illusion (it’s kinda similar to Kose Sekkisei’s CC cream which has a slightly higher coverage).
