On my last trip to Korea, I bought several concealers – mainly because I couldn’t carry any more weight and concealers were much lighter than another bottle of cleansing water. Heh. I know, it’s not the best motivation for wanting to buy a concealer, but seriously, when it comes to beauty shopping, all reason goes out of the window.

I say…
- I can’t quite remember how much I paid for this, cos I made payment in cash and there’s no “evidence” that I shopped (vs my long, long, long credit card receipts). I do remember that it’s under KRW10,000.
- It comes in the usual tube, but the material isn’t too flimsy so the tube feels kinda solid enough (without getting accidentally squished if you bring it around in your makeup pouch).
- There’s no scent.
- Now the concealer feels kinda thick (but fluid), and in this case, it can be a good thing, cos it implies that it’s packed full of pigments to help in covering up.
- Just an eensy weensy teeny little droplet is enough to cover both dark eye circles.
- For concealers, I prefer to use a brush to apply, as it can ensure more even application as well as minimise patchiness.
- When I was young, I used to apply concealer before my foundation, but these days, I apply it after my BB/Foundation so as to avoid the concealer being swept away by the puff during application.
- I like that it doesn’t cake much, and it stays put for a decent 6 hours or so (provided you don’t rub your eyes).
- It covers dark circles and blemishes relatively well – trust me, my dark eye circles are pretty bad and I’m quite fair, so it may not look that awesome in my photos, but it’s about 80-90% covered up already.
- On raised bumps (such as that annoying festering pimple), don’t overdo the application, cos it’ll cake slightly (but then again, this is the case for almost all concealers).
- On days that I don’t need that much concealing, I mix this up with a lightweight foundation such as the Innisfree Smart Foundation Long Lasting.
- One downside about this is that you need either a brush or your fingers to apply, unlike the IOPE Retigen Essence Dual Concealer which comes in a stick form so application is more convenient. But then again, using the stick can result in a 10% increase in skin pulling during application.
My verdict? Not bad. Notch bad indeed. :D
