It’s a new week again! It’s already the 3rd week of the new year – time passes toooo fast. This is why I’m embarking on a massive product review spree~ before everything expires (I spent several weeks in December clearing my stash, and you can’t imagine the amount of stuff I had to throw because they’d expired) Meh.
Hanyul Cover Foundation – KRW35,000
I say…
The Packaging: Measures about 10cm tall (cap included). Bottle of product itself measures about 5cm x 2.5cm, so it’s a pretty small compact bottle.
The Scent: No scent.
The Coverage: Even though it’s pretty lightweight and smooth and spreads over the skin easily (within the first few seconds of application), there’s a slight “drag” once it begins setting in. The coverage level is pretty impressive- I’d say it’s on the higher end. The immediate finish is a matte one, and most blemishes are covered.
The Verdict: This is a foundation that gives a brightened finish with pretty good/high coverage that is mostly matte. However, it started getting cakey after about 4-6 hours at oilier areas such as the corners of the nose and the chin – you’ll need to dab with tissues to get rid of the splotches. It also looked a bit patchy on uneven areas (i.e over clogged/enlarged pores). It also has a very limited range of 2 shades – 21 (lighter, but pinkish), or 23 (darker, but beige). I went for 23 but found that it did not suit my skin tone. I had to do some color correction by applying 3CE’s White Milk Cushion as well as Etude House’s Magic Any Cushion in peach before applying this foundation. Overall, I’d say this is suitable for combi, or combi-drier skintypes; in fact, even combi-oil types can suit this, but it won’t be for those with true-blue oily skintypes.
