Fine, so some may judge me or call me bonkers, but I’m one of those who’s hopped on the Pokemon Go bandwagon – thankfully, I’m not one of them nutters who’s rushed across the road, risking life and limb just to catch a Snorlax (although I was pretty peeved that this fella who was sitting beside me on the bus manage to get a Snorlax while I didn’t. Hmph). Thus far, the only “injury” I’ve suffered is a slight tan – despite my best efforts in slathering on the sunblock before hitting the streets, it hasn’t been able to stave off the sun rays. Ah well.
Fresh Peony Brightening Foam Face Cleanser – SGD64
I say…
The Packaging: A tall squeezy tube with a flip-top click cap. I know it may not mean much to others, but I particularly like that body of the tube is made of a slightly softer plastic material so it feels more pliable (i.e. a bit more “mashable” and moulds to the palms of the hand more). You’ll find this comes in handy when you’re trying to squeeze the last few ml out when this product is finishing. It stands rather steadily on its own, since I haven’t knocked it over in the bathroom yet heh.
The Scent: There’s a soft floral scent (which may or may not be peony) which isn’t my favorite scent, but it doesn’t turn me off either. The scent doesn’t linger long on the skin though – once you’ve rinsed it off with water, the scent is gone too.
The Texture: I love the soft almost-melted cream texture of the cleanser – it glides onto the skin smoothly (but not that it matters, since you should be lathering up your cleanser before applying it to your face). There’s a fair bit of foam when you lather it up, but it’s not overly foamy. When rinsed off, it leaves the skin feeling soft, hydrated, and smooth.
The Verdict: I like this cleanser much more than their other Soy Cleanser – this gives a sensation of cleansed skin without being overly stripping or drying, and leaves the skin feeling sufficiently hydrated and soft enough. And psst, you know what’s the best part? I actually do see a slight improvement in skin fairness – note that it’s not those drastic one-shade-fairer types, but I definitely do see my skin tone evening out and I do look brighter and slightly more radiant. Me likey this cleanser very mucho – it is slightly pricier than your average cleanser, so perhaps get this as a quarterly indulgence?
