Andddd the weekend’s gone just like that. poof. On the bright side, Christmas is approaching! Now I’m not particularly a religious person (although I do respect all religions), so it’s never been a family tradition to celebrate Christmas. What I do look forward to – in a typically pragmatic Singaporean way- is the bonus. Tis the season to be jolly – and to replenish things that need to be, such as the old living room fan, the wonky fixtures in the house etc. Another thing that really needs replenishing is the skin’s bounciness – as much as I hate to admit it, I am aging. But darn nit, I will age as gracefully as I can. Nothing invasive at the moment – I’ll just rely on slathering on the skincare products heh. Here’s something new I’ve been trying for the past few weeks.

The Packaging:
The Scent: Citrus and fresh without being overly acidic or overwhelming. It doesn’t last long – it’s mostly gone after your skin has thoroughly absorbed the product.
The Texture: It’s a lightweight gel that’s absorbed quickly – it’s said to break down into tiny little water droplets, but to be honest, it’s not that obvious cos it’s really easily and speedily absorbed into the skin (or it could just be my very thirsty skin).
The Verdict: Now, the thing about doing skincare reviews is that the effects aren’t particularly visible in terms of photo product, so this is where my journalistic keyboard-banging skills come into play – after trying this out for a few weeks, I actually felt a difference in the skin texture. (and yes, I try it on half my face just to ensure that I’m doing a proper test). It settled into my existing skincare regime without a hitch, being easily absorbed and not having any reaction with the other products (Kiehl’s Iris Activating Treatment Essence, Belif The True Tincture of Chamomile, Sum 37 Secret Programming Essence, Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum, Sulwhasoo Whiteing Serum EX, Laneige Water Bank Sleeping Mask) The skin’s surface felt smoother, and perhaps a slight bit bouncier (aka firmer in texture). Despite me going through a period where I barely had any sleep, I noticed that the side of the face where I applied this cream to had significantly less breakouts than the other side of my face! Happiness! You won’t see much significant whitening (well, not in my case anyway), but I’m pretty much happy with the improvement in skin texture and overall skin health. Totally worth a shot if you’re looking at a lightweight skin-improving and moisture-boosting product. What’s more, a little goes a long way, so the $85 will be well spent.
