Review: Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk – Chiffon

By Beautifulbuns

One can never have enough lipsticks – I am pretty sure I have not finished a single lipstick, ever. Hmm hmm. Hey beauty brands, you guys ever considered making a shorter lipstick bullet and halving the price?😀

Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk is categorised into the following: Cream (which I assume to be your usual cream-rich-colour type), Matt (full matte), and Chiffon (which I assume to be a hybrid of cream and matt).

I say…

The Packaging: In Etude House’s signature pink – but this one looks slightly more posh that its usual counterparts cos it has a silver top and base. It comes in the usual circular tube with a twist-out lipstick bullet.

The Scent: A distinct berry scent that lingers on for a while even after application. Me likey.

The Texture: True to its name, it does glide on smoothly and with a lightweight texture (i grudgingly agree it can be “chiffon-like”. Surprisingly, it sits pretty well on dry chapped lips (presumably because it’s a hybrid of the cream and matte versions). The color pigments are pretty strong (I’d expect nothing less from Etude House cos their products have always had strong color intensity) and one coat is enough to get a good color payoff.

The Verdict: I actually like this range – it’s one of the few products with a matte finish that I can apply directly onto bare dry/chapped lips (without first coating with Vaseline or lip balm). It looks almost decent enough, and lasts for a pretty long time. After the color wears off, there’s a rosy tint. Once that wears off, I love that there are no remnants in the fine lines of the lips – if you’ve got some skin flakes, you can peel that off and find that it’s tinted pink. Overall, a pretty decent matte-finish lipstick to try out (and at an affordable price too!).
