Yoohoo~! I’m guessing you guys have heard of storm chasers? Well I’m a legit sun chaser – I always have to check out the sunlight before I can take any of my Instagram or blog photos, cos these provide the best lighting. I suppose the megawatt smile on my face (grinning like a Cheshire cat) could also light up the place as well, especially with the sudden influx of cushion foundations this Spring Summer. :D

The Packaging: It’s the usual compact casing – ya’know, the inbuilt mirror, tray that functions as an airlock as a sponge tray. It does come with a flat surface top, which I like cos it means I can stack my other cushions on top of it.
- Note: This is not compatible with the other western brands like YSL’s Le Cushion, Biotherm’s Evermoist CC, and Lancome’s Blanc Expert High Coverage. However, unlike the other western cushions, the refill of this Dior cushion foundation is compatible with the BB cushions of Laneige, Etude House, IOPE, Etude House and Hera – which isn’t surprising considering that Dior has signed a MOU with AmorePacific (aka the company that produces the aforementioned Korean brands) to tap on its technology, which I’m guessing includes its cushion foundation foam, casing, refills, etc.
The Scent: It smells nice and fragrant and very, very slightly remniscent of some other Kbeauty product that I can’t recall at the moment. It’s no big deal though – as long as it smells nice, I’m cool with it :D
The Texture / The Finish: It’s lightweight and very hydrating, which is a pro (moisture for the skin!) and con (shine bright like a diamond, anybody?). , To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting much when I first tried on this cushion at the department store beauty counters. The BA recommended shade 005 for me, which was slightly sheer/natural. However, shade 010 did give a surprisingly decent medium level of coverage. Dark eye circles cannot be covered completely though. Upon first application, I was all “Oooh~!” cos the coverage was good, the skin was brightened, and had a somewhat acceptable level of dewiness.
The Verdict: There’s one O word that I really dislike – no, no, not that O. I’m talking about oxidisation – alas, this oxidises :( After about 4-5 hours, I could see patches forming all over the chin (and basically everywhere that my sebum glands were beginning their production). They can be easily removed by patting a tissue on your face, but this means that your makeup/coverage level is also lessened – you can see that the tissue lifts off quite a bit of product. Any product that oxidises immediately goes to the bottom of my To-use list, simply cos I can’t be whipping out a mirror to check on my face all the time. Sigh pie. It doesn’t have much oil control either, so after about 3-4 hours, the face glow starts morphing into a face shine. Its weartime isn’t anything to shout about either – perhaps 3-4 hours at best. However, if you’ve got dry or combi-dry skin type or are going to a country with a dry climate, this would be suitable for you. It gives a decent natural coverage and keeps your skin hydrated while looking slightly radiant. For my fellow oily/combi-oily skintype pals, I’d say let’s stick to either Lancome or Biotherm (for western cushion foundations).
