Woah.. major inertia these few days – somehow, I’m still not back up to my 100% level because of the weather. Transiting from a -13 degrees to 35 degrees is kinda shocking to this old and worn body. Hah. Anyhoos, speaking of the Korean winter, here’s one item that came in somewhat useful in preventing me from turning into a full-fledged raisin last month.

The Packaging: It comes in a rather aesthetically pleasing packaging with illustrations. The surface is somewhat textured (very mildly so) and gives a good grip cos it’s not overly smooth. It’s also a handy-sized tube at 11cm tall (including the cap), and is a flattish tube that fits very snugly into corners of my overcrowded handbag.
The Scent:It has a very pleasant and somewhat soothing powdery-fragrant scent that doesn’t set off my sensitive nose.
The Texture: A lightweight cream that’s very easily spread and absorbed with almost no residue on the surface of the skin, save for a refreshed and hydrated feeling.
The Ingredients: Aqua (water), glycerin, propanediol, squalane, pentylene glycol, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, triticum vulgare (wheat) starch, zinc oxide, corn starch modified, hydrolyzed wheat flour, citric acid, ethyl lauroyl arginate hcl, parfum (fragrance)*, tocopheryl acetate, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder, disodium edta, sodium hyaluronate, iris pallida leaf cell extract, jasminum sambac (jasmine) leaf cell extract, rosa damascena leaf cell extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, linalool, benzyl salicylate, coumarin, limonene, geraniol, cinnamyl alcohol.
The Verdict: For a strange reason, I found myself with extremely dry/peeling elbows despite being wrapped up like a meat dumpling for most of the time I was in Korea (aka minimal exposure to the winds). Although this is a rather lightweight product, it helped to soothe the elbows and hands, and stopped them from drying out too much. In Singapore, it works well for me too, especially with prolonged exposure to the dry internal air-conditioned climates. I love that it is absorbed super quickly (although I’m not too sure if it’s because my skin was so parched). This is supposedly also suitable for after-sun exposure (to calm the skin down), and can relieve chapped lips too (because of its sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera and shea butter ingredients). I actually find this a really convenient and useful carry-around item, especially during days that my skin gets dehydrated. Admittedly, it’s slightly on the pricy side, but if you’ve got some moolah to spare, get yours from here [psst, I don’t get any commission from this :) I’m only recommending it cos I think it’s good]
