As much as I love Korean culture, there’s something I’ve never been able to emulate – the pout. Sure, some may call it the duck face, but it’s still adorable (assuming you don’t hold it for more than 5 seconds).
Part of it can be attributed to the fact that I’ve got dry flakey lips (which I’ve repeated for so many times I’m sure you must be sick of it by nao, and totally wanna smack me in mah lips hurhurhur). A step in the right direction would be to apply a lip mask, lip balm and of course, drink lots of water.
Another way to fake it till I make it is to pile on the lip products, and here’s one I’ve been experimenting with :D
Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint
I say…
- The packaging is relatively normal at first glance, but once you open the click-top cap, you’ll realize that it’s actually not your average lip tint / gloss.
- The lipstick-shaped tube is actually hollow, and you dispense the tint by twisting the lipstick-shaped portion (not the bottom like how you’d do for a lipstick). It will gradually push the liquid tint upwards and out of the hole at the tip. This is good cos there will be no accidental dispensing of the tint while it rolls around in your makeup pouch.
- For first-time usage, you’ll need to twist quite a number of times to get the tint flowing (meanwhile, you can amuse yourself by watching the product rise to the top).
- The tint is relatively watery, so I’m quite glad that the tip is slanted at an angle and also has a very gentle groove to contain the tint and prevent it from flowing outwards and down the tube.
- Twist it in the opposite direction to “suck back” any extra product dispensed.
- I love that its plastic tip can be easily cleaned with a tissue – but I’m also slightly on the fence cos I’m afraid gunk from my lips will go back down into the hole lolol.
- There’s also no accidental bumping of the product (I’ve bumped so many lipsticks with my klutzy fingers that I’ve lost count).
- It’s slightly scented, but it’s quite a subtle scent that’s barely noticeable.
- Since it’s quite watery, it glides over the lips very easily.
- It’s really lightweight – you can barely feel its presence, and it’s not sticky either.
- The coverage factor isn’t high – it’s not a lipstick. It does however, leave a rosy tint (depending on the shade you have bought).
- It does seep into the fine lines of the lips and highlight the chapped portions of the lips, so I’d recommend exfoliating the lips before application.
- That said, the color payout is pretty vibrant – as you can see from the swatches above. It gives a really high shine / gloss factor that’s similar to the Laneige Water Drop Tint (but Laneige is slightly more hydrating and helps to alleviate the dryness of the lips).

- What makes this product stand out is its long-lasting tint – the gloss factor wears off after a while, but holy momma, the rosy pink tint stays forever..and ever.. and ever.. seriously. I usually use the back of my hands to swatch products and photograph them, and I do several in a day. Because of the long-lasting tint, I couldn’t photograph any products for that day. hmph.
- Beauty tip: What I’d recommend is using this as a base, and then applying something else on top (perhaps a lipstick). When that fades, your lips will still remain rosy. Alternatively, you can use it on top of another product to add the gloss factor.
Overall, a lightweight product with vibrant color pay-off for upping the gloss and shine factor on your lips.
