By Beautifulbuns

It’s been a while since I did a Korean foundation product review – now that ChoSungAh22 is available on our shores, I can’t possibly pass up the chance to try out this  famed foundation (as well as their cushion cheek blusher).

I say…

The Packaging: A cylindrical tube measuring 11cm tall and about 3.7cm across. It has a click-on cap which opens to reveal the round flat-top sponge applicator that’s attached to the bottle. Along the side, there’s a button for you to press, which will allow the foundation to be dispensed via a little hole in the sponge. Now the sponge is meant for you to apply the foundation with, so that you get a hands-free application, but it’s hard to reach smaller areas such as the corners of your nose and the inner corners under the eye, so I still had to resort to fingertip blending.

The Scent: A nice herbal-fragrant scent. It’s not too strong in terms of the herbal aspect, and is rather refreshing and uplifting.

The Texture: Very, very smooth texture that glides across the skin and blends easily in. It feels very hydrating and moist, and thus, gives a relatively dewy finish. However, this is actually a dewy finish I like, cos it’s not overly shiny, and gives a medium coverage as well as a brightening finish. Most of the blemishes and dark eye circles were covered.

The Verdict: A super smooth and surprisingly well-performing foundation that gives a decent coverage, medium wear time (about 6 hours before it started melting), as well as medium oil control. It doesn’t oxidise or get patchy, but you will need to touch up after about 5-6 hours, especially if you’ve got oily combi skin like me. Those with drier skintypes should love this cos of its hydrating properties, and it would also be apt to use in winter climate countries. Just be sure to let it set before applying anything else over, or you’ll get some streaking.
