Review: Chosungah 22 Real Cheek Smoother Cushion Blusher

I remember that there was one time I was literally on my knees in an Olive Young in Korea, desperately trying to get a particular shade of Peripera’s cushion blusher that was stuck in a giant pile at the back of a shelf – those were good times when my creaking knees would actually support the shenanigans of a beauty junkie heh. Thankfully, I don’t have to go the same heights (or lows, rather) for this particular product which has the same format with a squeezy tube and a cushion puff applicator – it’s available at Sasa and placed conveniently on a shelf heh.

Something I was slightly disturbed about – this deflated tube is only after my very first usage (i.e. only for this review purpose). It reminds me of those big bags of potato chips that are actually half full (or even less) when you open it.

The Packaging: A relatively short fat squeeze tube that allows to squeeze out the blush which then comes out through the cushion puff. It can be a hands-free application, but I prefer to blend out the (rather bright) pink blush with my fingers/another sponge puff. You can still use this product to blend it out though – personal preference.

The Scent: Nil.

The Texture: It’s a rather lightweight cream that’s not too thick and blends out easily (which is a relief, cos the color of this Berry Ade does dispense initially as a rather alarming neon pink). Speaking of the colour, yes, it’s a rather eyebrow-raising neon pink, buttttt fret not – as you can tell from the above photos, it actually blends out into a nice rosy pink. Just 1-2 dabs of the cushion puff is enough.

The Verdict: It gives a nice wearable color that has a very slight glowy finish. Cos it’s a cream base, it’s suitable for most skintypes (especially dry skintypes), and pretty much stays on the whole day. It’s also relatively easy to use (in terms of packaging), but makeup newbies might take a longer time and more effort to blend in the hot-pinkness of the blush. Overall, it’s a pretty decent blush except for its price point – based on the other Chosungah22 products listed here, I’m guessing that the price of this blush will be around $20ish in Singapore. Considering the fact that about half the tube is air, I’m a bit hesitant to pay that amount for this blush. But then again, if you’re really keen on trying this, it’s a pretty decent blush to be honest.
