So I have seborrheic dermatitis and I need to use an appropiate shampoo at least once a week to keep it under control. I have used the original Selsun Blue for quite some time and it works well. But the Selsun Blue Micro Bead scrub is crap, plain and simple. I was hoping the micro beads would be helpful, but they have not been. I have been using the shampoo for a few weeks now and have seen no results so far. The active ingredient in this is salicylic acid and it has a little more than your average acne cleanser. And I'm thinking that the salicylic acid has something to do with why it is not as effective. Also, the shampoo has the consistency of a gel and it is very difficult to work into a good lather. Something to keep in mind when looking for a good anti-dandruff shampoo or if you have seborrheic dermatitis is to look for products with selenium sulfide as the active ingredient. I know this probably will not appeal to most readers. but I thought it would be helpful information for some people.
