This recipe is an easy way to experience an Asian culture. Pita bread taste good when it is eaten with any curry type recipe on healthy lunch ideas list. Pita bread recipe gives you a chance to create you own flavor bread with a mix of herbs all this recipe does is to teach you how to make the bread. By addition of extra ingredients will improve the taste 10 folds.  Most of the recipe on healthy lunch ideas are here to make you enjoy your lunch the easy and healthy way, but changing a few ingredient would not alter the taste sometimes it’s for good.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp. dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
Directions:
  1. Dissolve the yeast in 1 cup warm water.
  2. Sift together the flour and salt and mix in yeast and water.
  3. Work the mixture into a dough and knead for several minutes.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for 3 hours.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll into balls.
  7. With either your hand or a rolling pin, pat and press each ball of dough into a 5″ inch circle about 1/2″ inch thick.
  8. Place on an un-greased baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the pita are light golden brown.
