I received this Phil Smith Total Treat Argan Oil in Cosmo (one with Aleesha Dixon on the cover) a couple of months ago. I’ve heard a lot about Argan oils and I’ve been avoiding them because adding oil to greasy hair seems like it would be a really stupid thing to do. Except this is a cream and it works wonders.

I have the most flyaway hair. Getting it to look neat, sleek and shiny are virtually impossible, but always how I’ve wanted my hair to be. Having greasy and fine hair means I’ve tended to use products which volumise and prevent it from getting greasy too quickly, so I have typically avoided using additional styling products. The volumising shampoo and conditioner I use leave my hair untamed, dull-looking and shine-free, so I was keen to try a product which may change that.

This Phil Smith Total Treat Argan Oil provides me with volume and sleek and shiny hair. It’s like an intensive conditioner which untangles hair, makes it feel smooth, and makes my hair look shiny and tame – which honestly is not an easy task. All you need to do is apply the Argan Oil cream to towel-dried clean hair, focussing on the tips. The bottle says to use a pea-sized amount of cream but I’ve found that you need to use slightly more than that for a good coating; and I don’t even have particularly long or thick hair. On the plus size, the cream is incredibly smooth and applies to hair with ease, plus it dries well and doesn’t leave a greasy feeling at all. The smell is also really pleasant and it’s nice being able to smell it all day. It’s become a welcome addition to my hair routine, and I can see myself buying a full-sized product in the future. Especially seeing as this tube will has already last a long time!
