It comes in a brown pharmaceutical looking glass bottle packed in a plain white box with a pump dispenser and an information sheet. The product makes several claims: to remove dirt, makeup and oil without stripping the skin, and it is supposedly an anti-aging cleanser because of the inclusion of alpha lipoic acid.
Its texture is a clear, thick gel that foams a lot, so it's good to not be used more than a pea size or you are going to have foam all over your face, nostrils and mouth.
The smell is not very pleasant (smells like dish detergent), so if you like Dior, Chanel or Guerlain strong fragrance products you might dislike this one. It cleans really well and rinses easily. It did not leave a film on my skin.
For my sensitive dry skin in the winter the cleanser is quite drying, but it might work fine for those with combo or oily skin, or even in the summer.
Because of the drying effect ,it tightens the skin and pores appear smaller, so it might work great for you if you'd like to achieve that effect. I did not break out from it, but everyone's skin is different.
As far as anti-aging benefits,I did not see any, and I have a few fine lines at my eye and still in search for the right product that can solve this. You might give it a try if you are ok with its smell and the fact that it can be harsh for sensitive skin.
Pros for Perricone Nutritive cleanser are:
- rinses easily, and no film left on skin-cleans well and minimizes the pores to some extent - could work well for oily and combo skin types - foams a lot, so if you are the type of person that likes that in a cleanser this one is a great option
Cons for Perricone Nutritive cleanser are :- quite drying for sensitive dry skin types - very detergent - like smell - not seeing any anti- aging benefits, maybe it's more for prevention and not for .treatment .- could cause some break outs for some people, and it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
