I feel like I’ve accomplished so much in the last couple of days. Thursday morning I went to the gym and got in a good cardio session before meeting with my trainer. I did sprints for thirty minutes and then I attempted the stair climber. Holy cow. I was dying. That machine gives you one heck of a workout.
I met with my trainer and he asked me if I wanted to weigh in and check my body fat. I said, “Yes. The answer is always yes. Don’t ever let me say no.” My body fat is currently at 34% which is considered obese. I’m not thrilled about that number. Two years ago I was at 33% and I actually lift weights now. I am extremely confident that that number will drop though so I’m not going to dwell on it too much.
We touched on nutrition a little bit. I told him that I’ve tried it all and he asked when I felt the best. My answer was while I was on the Whole 30 but I told him I’m not ready to give up the sweetener in my coffee yet. He told me to eat as close to the Whole 30 as possible but I can have my coffee the way I like it (with almond milk and stevia). He also suggested I eat brown rice, rice cakes and hummus on occasion. I think that sounds like a great plan! I know this photo will be a ‘Before’ in a few months.
After the gym I spent the rest of the day with my parents. We had lunch, we did some shopping and I was finally able to take them to Ryan Bros Coffee. I couldn’t believe I had never brought them to the place where Stephen and I met. I was really excited to see they make a Paleo coffee now. They make it with canned coconut milk and an extract. The flavor changes daily. I ordered it iced and it had coconut extract. It was delicious. We made it over to Hobby Lobby and we started buying stuff for the wedding. So exciting! It’s happening!!!
I mentioned the other day that I was looking for an accountability tool. I ended up getting a FitBit Flex. I’ve only had it one day and so far I am so incredibly glad I bought it. I need to get my hands on some of the new colored bracelets at Target next.
I went to the gym this morning and I kicked my own butt. I got in an amazing cardio session.
I know for a fact I have my FitBit to thank. At first I was determined to get in 5,000 steps and then once I saw how easy that was to achieve, my next goal was 10,000. I hit it before 10:30 am. I did some long sprints. A quarter mile on and a quarter mile off. I did that for forty five minutes and each time I ran I upped the speed. And then I did another thirty minutes on the elliptical.
I wish I would have discovered Plantain Chips earlier. These little babies are amazing! And the best part is they are Whole 30 approved. I like to dip them in hummus or guacamole. These are from Trader Joe’s.
I watched the series finale of Parenthood and I cried my eyes out. This show was amazing. I loved how it touched on pretty much every situation a family could possibly go through. I’m so sad it’s over.
I happened to look up my name on UrbanDictionary.com and this was the first entry. This is so me! Crazy! AND the entry was written by Heather Nichole, which is my name also. Spelled the exact same way and everything. I didn’t read any other entries because I found this one to be so perfect.
