This isn’t a post I ever thought I would be that excited to write. But I am a clean freak and until about a year ago I didn’t really care about natural products. Enter in a few health problems and I eliminated some of the harsh chemicals and plastics from around the house. Did it make me feel better? I know it is not the only factor but I do think it helped to not be breathing in the those fumes when cleaning.
These are products that I personally purchased and am not doing a review for the company. I am doing this to share how much I love the products!
For everyday cleaning, things like wiping down counters, washing the stove, washing windows and other surfaces I use Shaklee Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate. I purchased the starter kit with the concentrate and bottles and just make a new bottle when I need it. We have barely gone through any of the concentrate. Love this product! Gets counters clean and that makes me happy.
Dish washing is the hand dish wash and the automatic dish washer powder. One note if you have hard water you have to use a bit more. We have a softening and it still takes a little more to get the dishes clean, but we also happen to live in one of the harder water areas of the country.
For dusting wood furniture I use Method Wood For Good Daily Clean from Target, smells so good and keeps a few of my antiques and special pieces looking great.
Laundry can be a bit tricky to go more green on, you want stain fighting and odor removing (especially on workout clothes) so I use Ecover detergent for everything and add in NatureBright for whites.
Biggest change in the cleaning, going to reusable microfiber clothes. HUGE difference in windows, dusting, wiping counters down. I wash them every few days and we use so many fewer paper towels.
I already admitted that I am a clean freak, but having products that are natural around the house makes me happy. Seeing shiny counters, stovetops, sinks and nice clean laundry is a good thing. We all have to do it, why not make it a little easier and more natural. And cheaper. A lot cheaper, I think I spent a little over $100 initially but I haven’t bought anything besides laundry soap and dishwasher soap since early May. The concentrate bottle barely has anything gone and we use this all over the house.
