My Thoughts on Too Faced's Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer

By Kwilliford @ExquisiteEczema
It is very rare that I get excited over a face product (I'm an eye and lip girl), but I was pretty intrigued by this one.  Mostly because my skin has (or had) a nice case of the blahs.  I honestly didn't expect to like this primer as much as I do, but I have grown rather found of it.

What Too Faced Says:
"Got a beauty hangover? Our replenishing face primer is your instant cure. It hydrates, smoothes, and brightens skin for a dewy, healthy looking finish."

What I Say:
This primer lives up to its claims.  My skin does look healthier and brighter that it normally does. The formula is very lightweight and absorbs into the skin quickly.  It doesn't make my skin look shiny.  And although it doesn't have any claims about helping foundation stay on longer, it does help in that department, too.  However, at the end of the day, my skin does look oily, so I have to use powder to take some of the shine away.  But this isn't a big deal because it happens regardless of what primer and foundation I use.

This primer is silicone free, and has three ingredients that nourish the skin: coconut water, electrolytes, and probiotics (apparently pre- and probiotics are even good for acne).  The scientist in me is a little skeptical about how effective topical electrolytes and probiotics can be, but they must be doing something.  There is also a light, pleasant coconut scent that disappears once the primer has been absorbed.  I find it to be rather pleasant and it kind of reminds me of the beach, too.
Another great thing Too Faced did is the pump applicator.  It is awesome to have a primer that doesn't have to be squeezed out of a tube.  I haven't any issues with it so far, but I wonder if it will be problematic as I get towards the end.

If your skin is extremely oily, I would probably stay away from this.  Any other skin type should be okay.  This primer is on the price side at $32, but I do not regret getting it.  You can find it at Sephora, Ulta, and Too Faced's website.
