I'm glad he chose Julian. I've been really missing Nashville - this time of year does that to me. So it was really nice being in the country for the weekend.
He made arrangements through Airbnb for us to stay in a house for the night.
This was our view from the back patio.
We freshened up and went down to Main Street to do some exploring.By the way, doesn't Stephen look like a lumberjack? I love it!
We started at Mom's because on our way in there was a line out the door. We grabbed an apple crumb pie for dessert later on in the evening. Julian is known for their apples and apple pie.
There was a Christmas performance going on on Main Street. Carols were being sung and there was a living Nativity scene. With all the events going on in the world, it's so nice to still see Jesus Christ present in society.
We tried getting into an Italian restaurant but there was a wait so we drown down the hill a bit to a pizza place.
The scenery was amazing because the restaurant was in a barn...however, the pizza was not very good. We paid $30 for pizza that tasted like it came out of the freezer. Oh well. Maybe New York spoiled us and now pizza just won't be the same.
When we got back to the house, Stephen lit a fire in the wood burning stove.
We ate apple pie, sipped wine and watched Conan clips on youtube.
Sunday morning we got up and packed up our belongings. We went back into town and ate breakfast at Julian Cafe. They serve heart shaped biscuits with each plate and their coffee was soooooo good.
Speaking of coffee, they had this on the wall in the restaurant and it made me laugh. I'm pretty sure I"m going to need this in my house to motivate me each morning.
We walked around town a bit and then headed home. We got home early enough so that we were able to get laundry done and watch Netflix. I'm so lucky to have a husband who makes plans and values time with me.
