Another Christmas has come and gone. It seems like every year I realize it's Christmas AFTER Christmas. My husband and I were scrambling to finish shopping on the night of the 23rd. We told each other months ago that we'd get our shopping done early and that didn't happen. My husband said at least we procrastinated together. I thought Home Alone was on Amazon Prime so that we could stream it on Christmas Eve but it wasn't. We ended up running to Target on Christmas Eve to purchase it. We enjoyed the evening in, just us and Vader. That was very relaxing. Hopefully that will be our Christmas Eve tradition for many many years to come. Vader got to open presents first on Christmas morning. That's what happens when you're a parent, right? Your kids come first. Stephen and I opened our gifts to one another and then we lounged for a little while before getting ready. Stephen did all the cooking. I didn't do one thing in the kitchen prior to guests arriving. I did decorate the kitchen table though. Thanks to my mom for letting me borrow all her Christmas dishes. Everyone came over around 2 and we started opening gifts right away. My brother face-timed me and we opened the gifts from them. My brother and sister-in-law gave me a Friends script from an episode that never aired. I guess Friends was supposed to end at the end of season 8 but it continued on. I can't wait to read it. Cute little baby faces.
My nephew is so adorable. He gives me major baby fever. My parents - how cute are they? Taking selfies. Vader loves babies, especially Logan. He kept giving him kisses. He's really good with kids. Makes me excited to have one of our own around the house. My hubby made the ham and the macaroni and cheese and my parents brought their mashed potatoes per my request. I was really looking forward to the mashed potatoes but then my husband's mac and cheese stole the show {sorry, dad}. He made Alton Brown's recipe and it was honestly, the best mac and cheese I've ever had. My mother-in-law made homemade Nutella cheesecake. Seriously, everyone around me can cook! I'm so lucky...my waistline not so much. This cheesecake had an Oreo crust. Heaven in your mouth. So incredibly good. Me and my momma. It was a plaid themed Christmas. Vader's first Christmas. ♥ And our first Christmas as a married couple in our own home. I was very nervous to have everyone over but it all went smoothly and at the end of the night Stephen told me his Christmas was better than he could have imagined.
