Magnum Pints

By Crushland @crushland

On a cold morning in May I opened the door to a very special delivery.

Ice cream!

It wasn’t just any ice cream, but the new decadent Magnum Pint all wrapped up in a cosy box of treats. I had previously selected the flavor (Chocolate, of course) and a DVD title according to genre.

It arrived just as our steaming mugs of hot chocolate were ready, but ice cream beats hot chocolate anytime!

Just ask this eager little beaver. I tried to explain that it was for Mommy and I Had To Take Pictures (ie I need to eat this alone!) but he wouldn’t listen and dug into it anyway.

We fell in love with the velvet chocolate texture, the chocolate bits and pools of rich sauce.

After the initial taste test I stuck it into the freezer for the next day, when there were no distractions :) The tub looked small enough for a single portion (for me) but two large scoops were quite enough. I left it out for a few minutes to get it to that perfect consistency of the previous day.

I added a sprinkling of toasted almonds for extra crunch and served in an oversized soup mug, because it is a Winter treat after all.

A few days later I remembered that I still had some stashed away in the freezer!

But that was just dug out and enjoyed straight from the tub.

At R59.99 for 450ml it is more expensive than other brands on the shelf, but well worth the indulgence if you love ice cream. You could get out about 5-6 scoops which would be cheaper than driving all the way to an ice cream shop and paying R20 per scoop!

Available at most supermarkets, in the following flavours:

Vanilla & Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate & Raspberry and Hazelnut & Chocolate
