I am not a huge M.A.C fan. I find them to be very hit or miss most of the time, especially when it comes to their limited edition collections. However, once I started seeing pictures of the Nutcracker Sweet Peach Face Compact floating around Instagram, I knew I had to have it. Everyone was going crazy over the copper compact because of Whisper of Guilt, but not me.
The Sweet Peach Face Compact comes with a highlighter and a blush. The highlighter has their Extra Dimension Skin Finish formula and the shade is called TuTu. It is an absolutely stunning, (breathtaking, really) silvery pale peach. It looks like a light gold until you swatch it, but it does have a pale gold appearance on the skin. It is honestly difficult to describe. It is just pretty. It feels slightly drier than most other higher end highlighters I have used, but it is still soft and smooth. Another great thing about this formula is that it doesn't actually have shimmer particles in it. As a result, it gives you that glowing from within look. It doesn't accentuate texture anywhere near as badly as other highlighters, too. On me, it lasts pretty much all day. I have noticed some very slight fading. It is currently my all time favorite highlighter.
The blush is called At Dusk and it has their Extra Dimension Blush formula. At Dusk is more of a pinky mauve than a peach. If you have medium or deep skin, this won't show up on you. It barely shows up on me, which is actually why I like it so much. I don't like overly pigmented blushes because things can go south very quickly and if you mess up, it is hard to fix. With this blush, you can build it up a little bit to achieve the perfect subtle flush. It is on the dry side and you can't pick up a lot of product on a brush. Again, that isn't a big issue for me because I would much rather have to build a blush up than try to tone it down. It doesn't look chalky or powdery at all on the skin. Considering how dry it feels, I expected to look a little chalky. This blush isn't for everyone, but if you like a more toned down blush and don't mind working with it a little, it is worth getting.
The packaging is great, too. The outside is beautiful and very festive. It has pink and purple stripes with gold thread accents. It is also very sturdy and they included a mirror. In other words, it would be nice for traveling.
This compact is worth getting for the highlighter alone. This compact is $35 and each pan is 0.16 oz. I really wish they sold TuTu alone. I am considering getting a second one because I can actually see myself using the entire compact up, and that doesn't happen very often.
I cannot recommend this enough. It is one of my favorite products of the entire year.
