I've been highly anticipating the release of these albums for a while!! Elle Varner and Laura Izabor... can I just say that I'm totally in awe of both of these ladies right now! Between Varner's raspy, sturdy voice and Izabor's soulful melodies, both are perfect for blasting on a Saturday morning while doing chores or giving your hair some TLC, or you can listen to it on a Friday night on your way to meet your girls for drinks. Either way, neither will disappoint! The 22-year old's debut album "Perfectly Imperfect" is all about love, redemption and self acceptance. Varner says this particular project "covers all bases" as far as who she is as an artist and as a woman.
"Perfectly Imperfect does really cover all the bases as far as who I am as a person and what I represent. I represent, obviously, young women, but also the idea that we should all love and accept each other as ourselves," says Varner. Watch out for my favorite tunes, "Not Tonight," "Oh, What a Night," and "Leaf."
Laura Izibor - The Brooklyn Sessions, Vol. 1 (Purchase the Album Here)
The R&B singer/songwriter from Dublin, Ireland is back, as it's been three years since she released Let The Truth Be Told. The naturally breathtaking singer recorded The Brooklyn Sessions Vol. I at Electrik Indigo Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with her band. The album is full of bits of reggae, soul and funk. My kind of music!
