If you're an imaginative soul like I am, this is one movie you want to watch out for. Beasts of the Southern Wild, which took the top prizes at both Sundance and the Cannes Film Festivals earlier this year, is one movie that will allow you to see an unraveling, decaying earth through the eyes of a young, innocent child and how she slowly comes to terms with the ever changing world around her. The main character is played by now, 8-year old Quvenzhané Wallis. What is so impressive about this little natural star in the making is that initially, the directors were looking for a 6-year old to play the role and nothing younger. Quvenzhané Wallis took the role by storm and although she was only 5 when she tried out for the role, she nailed it and they directors couldn't say no.
