Ever wonder what hair color would make your eyes jump out at people from across the room? Well not every eye color will do that. But let me help you pick a hair color that will complement you eye color while also matching with your skin tone.FOR GREENS & HAZEL EYES:Light skin: Stick to lighter colors with warmer undertones. If you've got more green in your eyes, stick to pinkish copper undertone. With more honey brownish hazels you can use more golden undertones.Medium skin: Play with hair colors between light brunette and medium brunette. With more green, try a red, if your base color is darker add some gold or yellow if you stick to the lighter brunettes.Darker skin: Keep it dark; accent with lighter browns, caramel, gold, toffee. With this rare mix of skin tone and eye color you don't need much help accenting your eyes.LIGHT BLUE:Light skin: Light eyes, light skin, light hair. That's my motto. Platinum is beautiful if you're a short hair fan, harder to achieve on longer lengths but if you have a naturally light base you can achieve it. Beige is also a great choice, stick to your less prominent warm colors when you are fair skin and eyes.Medium skin: Just like the light skin girls stick to less prominent warm tones, such as gold, beige, platinum can work in a lot of cases but be careful! Honey and caramel are superb if your base is closer to the brunette family's light to medium browns.DARK BLUE:Light skin: The darker your skin can get away with the darker you should be. Most should be safe in the light brown- dark brown range. That is a lot of playing room, experiment with red undertones, violets, blues, yellows, and gold until you find the combination that makes your Deep Pacific Blues sparkle. Medium skin: Same with the fair skinned ladies goes for you as well, the darker the better - just no black! This color eye with warm skin tone and dark hair is extremely rare. You will turn heads with any under tone; find the one that works on you best. Start with your warms and graduate to cools or the red families.LIGHT BROWN:Light skin: Playing room between medium brown to Medium or light blonde. Cool browns or beige blondes go very well with my light brown girls.Medium skin: Now you can't go as light with your blondes as our light girls but you can go just as dark. Medium brown- medium blonde will work best stay warm with your under tone. You may want to try a darker base and add light highlights. Make sure they are light enough... Orange isn't cute (on anyone).Dark skin: Same as our Medium skin tone girls... exactly the same.DARK BROWN:Light skin: Now this is rare combination but... it's best to stay between light brown and medium brown. Not much playing room. But if you go too light your eyes look weirdly dark and if you go too dark your skin appears washed out. Your best bet with undertones are naturals mixed with the gold or orange stages of warmth.Medium skin: Stay between the dark blonde and dark brown. You are able to play around with a lot of undertones. Anything from a cool to a warm will suite you and your eyes. Experiment away!Dark skin: Dark skin, dark eyes, dark hair. Just like the light girls with light eyes, stick with your natural pattern. If two of the three are in one tonal family, your hair should follow. You always have the option of highlights to jazz it up. But with dark skin and eyes your hair should be predominantly dark.
Now, get out there and color the world, or maybe just your hair and show those sparkling peepers!By Monica Lee
