Heart Breakfast Ring

Are you still confused about what to make for breakfast this coming valentines day. Well I have got some good news for you, Why don’t you try and make a heart breakfast ring? This lovely heart breakfast ring recipe is just the perfect dish for you to impress your loved ones on valentines morning . Not only is it simple and easy to make for both newbies and pro on the kitchen floor, it is also mind blowingly delicious. This awesome heart breakfast ring dish can be enjoyed on your dinner table or your bed, I`ll leave that option open for you?

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1/4 sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup softened butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup hot tap water
  • 1 egg

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup finley chopped or sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter or margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 cup finely snipped maraschino cherries

Cherry Icing:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice

Directions:

  1. Combine 1 cup flour, undissolved yeast, 1/ 4 cup sugar and salt in large bowl.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Add 1/4 butter.
  4. Add hot tap water.
  5. Beat with electric mixer 2 minutes.
  6. Add egg and 1/2 cup flour.
  7. Beat until thick and elastic.
  8. Gradually stir in just enough flour with wooden spoon to make soft dough that leaves sides of bowl.
  9. Turn out onto floured board.
  10. Knead 5-10 minutes.
  11. Cover with plastic then a towel.
  12. Rest 20 minutes.
  13. Filling: Combine all ingredients except cherries. Mix well.
  14. Punch down dough and roll into a 14×8 rectangle. Spread filling and roll-up tightly
  15. beginning with 14″ side.
  16. Place in a ring, seam side down, on greased baking sheet.
  17. Seal edges tightly.
  18. Snip dough into fourteen 1″ section, cutting from edge of circle to within 1 inch of center.
  19. Turn two cut sections on their sides in opposite directions to form a heart.
  20. Repeat until you have a circle of 7 hearts.
  21. Put snipped cherries into each heart.
  22. Lightly Brush dough with oil.
  23. Refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.
  24. When ready to bake , uncover and let stand 10 minutes.
  25. Bake at 375 for 20 – 25 minutes.
  26. Use lower rack.
  27. If browning too quickly, lower heat to 350.
  28. Remove from baking sheet immediately.
  29. Combine powdered sugar and cherry juice in a s mall bowl.
  30. Outline hearts with cherry icing.
