Happy New Year!

By Heathernichole
So much has happened since I last posted. I’ve been extremely busy and sick and blogging was the last thing on my mind. I started feeling under the weather on Monday, December 22nd. It continued to get worse and worse. Allergies attacked my body. Thirteen days later I am finally starting to feel semi-normal. I can’t wait to get back to feeling completely myself again.
Even though I was feeling under the weather I tried to get out and do things. My best friend was in town from Boston for the holidays so I wanted to spend as much time as I could with her. We met up with another friend from high school. I love these two ladies so much! Whenever we are all together it’s like no time has passed at all. #highschoolsweethearts

I also went home to see my family. My brother and his wife moved to Issaquah, Washington this week so we all had dinner together one last time. Not forever. Just for now. He got an amazing job offer with a church so he took the opportunity and made the move. I’ll miss them very much but I’m so happy for them. And I will definitely visit them soon.

THE craziest thing happened in the early morning of December 31st. It snowed at my parent’s house! I wanted to get in my car and drive there to see it for myself but it was also the day we had to be out of our apartment. My parents, my brother and my sister-in-law kept sending me pictures. This may not seem like a big deal to those of you in other parts of the country. But trust me when I say that this NEVER happens in Temecula, California. We had little flurries ten years ago but they didn’t stick.

This was as close as I got to the snow. My view was gorgeous but I still wish I could have walked in it and taken photos myself.

New Year’s Eve was moving day. My fiancé’s best friend and his wife were extremely kind and they came down from the mountain, the one in the photo above, to help me move out of my apartment. We were all done by two and I spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking at my in-law’s house, where we will be living temporarily.
I spent the evening with my best friend. We kind of have a tradition. Whenever she’s in town we spend New Year’s Eve together. I asked her to be my Maid of Honor and she said yes!

I was so surprised I made it ‘til midnight. It took everything I had in me.

New Year’s Day was very eventful. We had another coffee date. This time my cousin was there too. She was in from Arkansas for Christmas and I was so happy to see her. I also met her little boy finally! The four of us were in choir together in high school and I’m pretty sure the last time we were all together was while we were in high school.

My best friend and I spent the rest of the day shopping and then we ate dinner at my parent’s house. It was so weird being there without my brother or sister-in-law ormy puppy. I made a really difficult decision and I let my dog, Nash, move to Washington with my brother and sister-in-law. They became very attached to him over the last couple of months and he became very attached to them as well. I didn’t want to say good-bye to him because he’s my baby but I also don’t want my brother and sister-in-law to get homesick. I know Nash will bring so much joy to their lives. Here’s their first family photo in Washington.

Tomorrow is the three month anniversary of our engagement which means we only have nine months until our wedding. It’s time for me to focus on my nutrition and my workouts. I calculated some new macros and I am going to track every bite. I refuse to regret the way I look in my wedding dress. I hope you all are prepared for lots and lots of blogs about macros and food! Stay tuned.
